Palletizing

We Build Pallets For You

Are you shipping lots of small products? Ask about our on-site palletizing service and reduce your shipping costs!

By palletizing your products, you are converting multiple smaller products into a single load that can be moved as one unit. The goal is to prevent motion among the smaller units, since a shift in a single carton at the base of the pallet can cause everything to topple over, potentially resulting in product damage or injuries.

When it comes to palletizing, here is a breakdown of what we do to ensure the safety of your cargo:

  • Fill Boxes Fully: Empty boxes can easily be crushed during movement of a pallet, and gaps created by crushed corners can cause stacks to shift while in motion. We ensure each box is filled either with products or with additional packaging to prevent crushing.
  • Distribute Weight: The heaviest packages or products in the load must go on the bottom and weight is evenly spread.
  • Stack Boxes Tightly: Boxes must be stacked without gaps vertically or horizontally, in a way that no gap can open up when the pallet is moved. The edges of the boxes are aligned with, or very close to, the edge of the pallet without going over it.
  • Fill Gaps: Alternate the pattern of the cartons between layers to avoid creating gaps that can open up. Flat sheets of cardboard are used to create a level surface when needed.
  • Wrap Tightly: Once products have been tightly stacked, we use three to five layers of plastic wrap to wrap them tightly and bind them. If needed, cardboard corner protectors can be used to further protect packages and stabilize the load..
  • Custom Boxes: Many products fit neatly into standard-sized boxes, which makes palletizing them easy. However, long or awkwardly shaped products may not be palletized so neatly. If these are highly customized single-lot items like machine tools or fabricated frames for industrial equipment, then we will strap them down tightly to the pallet and pad them. Sometimes customized cardboard containers may be used (for a small fee) to reliably palletize them and ensure their safe arrival.
